Dynamic annual rate - dar - mortgage comparisons made easier

A proposed change in interest rate measures in the UK could make it far easier for consumers to compare the cost of mortgages, with the new interest rate measure offering increased transparency on the cost of borrowing. The Council of Mortgage Lenders claims that the new interest rate measure, which is known as the DAR or the Dynamic Annual Rate, will make the cost of borrowing far clearer to consumers, thus making it simpler for borrowers to compare loans in order to find the most competitive deal.

Currently, lenders in the UK use the Annual Percentage Rate measure, also known as the APR, in order to calculate the cost of borrowing. When using the APR to calculate the cost of borrowing the lender calculates on the basis that the loan will be kept on over the full term, ie 25 years. However, with many people switching mortgages before the end of the 25years, the APR does not offer a true comparison. Also, when using the APR measure no fees, charges, or arrangement fees are taken into account - the APR is based solely on the actual amount borrowed.

The DAR interest rate measure will differ in that it will take into account fees, charges, and arrangement fees. It will also be calculated over the length of time that the loan is likely to be kept. This is because many borrowers that take on Home loans and mortgages decide to pay off the loan in full after a few years - usually when a special offer such as a fixed rate runs out - and remortgage to a better value package.

Experts state that the DAR calculation will make it easier for borrowers to calculate the accurate cost of a loan, and will enable them to benefit from far easier and more accurate comparisons on similar loan deals. This will enable them to determine if and when they can benefit from switching from one product to another, and will also allow them to see how interest rate changes will affect the various costs associated with Home loans and mortgages.

An official from the Council of Mortgage Lenders said that this new measure makes information for consumers more 'comprehensive' and 'meaningful', and that it could prove very useful for consumers that are not sure with regards to how long they will be keeping the home loan or mortgage on before paying it off.

Is it painful getting your body pierced

As the old saying goes, “no pain, no gain.” The same is true when it comes to body piercing, as many parts of the body are a little more than uncomfortable when the needle penetrates the skin. As distasteful as it may be, a piercing is nothing more than a puncture wound with a piece of jewelry inserted into the hole. Many individuals would seriously consider body piercing, but the potential for pain is too much for the weak of heart. In most instances, the pain associated with the actual piercing is not nearly as extreme as believed.

The best way to determine the amount of pain associated with a specific type of body piercing is to ask someone who has experienced the pain firsthand. This is also an excellent way to determine if you really want to have that specific part of your body pierced, since a pierced individual will be able to inform you of any complications, infection, or problems he or she has experienced with the body piercing.

Another way to determine the amount of pain associated with a body piercing is to speak with a piercer. These individuals who pierce a variety of body parts for a living are usually able to walk you through the entire process from cleaning the needle to the healing process.

Generally, tongue piercings are generally thought to be the most painful, but in actuality, many believe the belly button to be the most painful area to be pierced. The tongue has a tremendous healing capacity, allowing it to quickly bounce back from any sort of trauma. Generally, tongue piercing is most associated with swelling, but little bleeding or pain. Belly buttons tend to have the greatest problems associated with piercing since the belly button takes an extremely long time to heal. Often, the belly button can take up to one year to heal completely, and is often prolonged due to the position on the body. Jewelry is likely to become snagged on clothing, therefore irritating the wound further.

Most piercers use a type of cooling spray or numbing lotion that will temporarily freeze the area and prevent pain. Ask the piercing parlor where you intend to have your piercing done to see if this is an option. Also, many piercers use well practiced techniques to lessen the pain as much as possible.

If you are concerned about the pain, bring a friend or companion to accompany you on your piercing adventure. Be sure to avoid taking any medications or alcohol before you visit a piercer, since piercers will not allow you into their salon if they believe you to be under the influence of any potential medications.

What kind of motorcycle gloves do i need

When it comes to motorcycle gloves there are a lot of choices, some of these depend on your riding style and what you want to wear. I personally like full fingered gloves but a lot of guys that ride cruiser's will not wear a glove at all or they wear half fingered gloves. These look a lot like weight training gloves where the palm and top of the fingers are covered but the tips are exposed. The advantage to these gloves is that you don't loose all the sensitivity where with a totally closed glove you will. Also the short fingered motorcycle gloves will keep your hands from sweating. Hatch makes a really nice pair of these gloves called shorty gloves. Hatch makes quality gloves so I would recommend those if you like short fingered gloves.

Short fingered gloves are a favorite of the cruiser crowd. I guess they go with the whole image and they do offer some protection in case you go down. I have seen a guys hand that had a spill without any gloves on and the road took all the meat of the palm of his hand. Not a real nice feeling I am guessing, therefore it is essential to wear some sort of hand protection when you are out riding. If you do fall I can almost guarantee 99 percent of the time your hands are going to touch that pavement and unless you have some leather on them your hands are asking for a serious case of road rash if youre lucky. So at a minimum a set of short fingered gloves will do the job nicely.

Full fingered gloves offer a bit more protection then their short fingered counterparts. Most of your sport bike crowd will use a full fingered glove. Some are gauntlet style or just a regular glove. Icon makes some really nice gauntlet style gloves as does AGV and Alpinestars. I personally own a pair of Alloy Alpinestars gloves which I have had for about 3 years now. These gloves are perforated and a are perfect for warm weather riding which is about 9 months out of the year where I live. I also like these gloves because they are simple and even when I am out on my chopper they look good where some of your more flashy hard core sport rider gloves are a bit to flashy for a cruiser these do double duty quite nicely. Icon also makes a set of gloves called pursuit gloves that are much along these lines. However if you want the ultimate in protection you will want to get a pair of gauntlet style road racing or track gloves. These types of gloves are made to really do the best job when it comes to protecting you in a spill. Most of them offer some sort of knuckle protection as well as a reinforced palm, also the seams are usually reinforced in order to ensure that the glove will stay in one piece under extreme conditions.

Ultimately the choice is yours, whether to wear gloves or not period. You will find that most bikers that have been riding for a while do wear some sort of hand protection. Their are many different styles of glove available so there is bound to be one that suits your needs. It doesn't matter who makes them but I would recommend you go with a quality manufacturer of motorcycle apparel like Alpinestars, Hatch, Icon or AGVSport. When you go with one of them you can be ensured that the gloves you are getting are of the best quality and will do the job they are designed for.

Owning up to financial problems

Deciding to file for bankruptcy is never an easy choice to make. You must first weigh the pros and cons, and determine what type of bankruptcy you can file.

There are two major ways to file bankruptcy and you should know that it is not an easy process. You can do it on your own if you understand the laws and the two different types of bankruptcy you can file. First there is chapter 7; chapter 7 bankruptcy is the conversion of assets into money. This allows you to payoff debts quickly. With chapter 7 bankruptcy you sell your assets to pay your creditors and within a few months you have charge offs on your credit. Chapter 13 is the next method used to file bankruptcy in the United States. Chapter 13 is the repayment plan with little or no interest. This means that you file chapter 13 with the courts, then all of your debts are compiled and you are set up on a repayment of those debts to take place each month until it is paid off. This is the advised way to go if you have a steady job but just cannot make all your monthly payments.

When considering both of these options you may be overwhelmed by what is best for you and your situation. The best advice is to seek out legal council that can assist you in determining which type of bankruptcy you should file as well as help you with filing the papers with the courts.

When it comes to choosing an attorney to represent you in your bankruptcy case you want to ask some important questions to aid you in your decision. Do not consider fees and payment prices alone, as you should focus on other factors that are just as important if not more important.

Important Questions To Ask

Ask each attorney you speak with how long they have been in practice and what level is their experience as an attorney. Ask for the attorney’s qualifications and what areas they specialize in. Asking about fees and payments is also needed for your choice in choosing your bankruptcy attorney. Also ask yourself some questions. Questions such as does the attorney seem competent? Is his office staff organized and punctual? If you are able ask some questions about the attorneys client relationships. Law does prohibit an attorney from speaking about clients unless he has been given the permission from the client. These questions can allow you to make a solid choice on who will represent you.

Comfort And Confidence

When meeting with your attorney does he or she seem to be considerate of your concerns? Do you feel comfortable speaking to your attorney about all aspects of your bankruptcy decision? Do you personally feel confident that your attorney will be able to perform all his or her duties in your bankruptcy case? If you feel discomfort of any kind you may want to continue reviewing possible attorneys for your case. You have to feel safe enough to put your financial concerns in the hands of your attorney. This will allow the process of bankruptcy to be much less uncomfortable and to proceed much more fluidly for a positive experience.

Cdc issues health alert notice for travelers to usa from hon

The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) on Saturday began distributing cards at airports receiving flights returning directly from Hong Kong warning travelers returning to the United States from Hong Kong & Guangdong Province, People's Republic of China & Hanoi, Vietnam that they may have been exposed to cases of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).

The cards are being handed out by quarantine officials at Chicago, O'Hare International Airport; Los Angeles; old York City, JFK International Airport; Newark; & San Francisco. These airports are the only U. S. airports receiving direct flights from Hong Kong. No U. S. airports receive direct flights from Hanoi or the Guangdong Province. CDC officials expect to expand the distribution of cards to Anchorage, Alaska & the territory of Guam later today.

The cards also offer guidance designed to assist physicians in making a diagnosis by advising travelers to tell their physicians about recent travel to the affected regions, & whether they've been in contact with individuals who displayed symptoms of SARS.

The travel cards warn those returning from the three areas that they should monitor their health for at least three days. they're also advised to contact their physicians if they become ill with a fever accompanied by a cough or difficulty in breathing.

The CDC advises physicians & other clinicians to be alert for travelers who:

As of March 15, 2003, the CDC had received reports of SARS cases in Hong Kong & Guangdong Province, People's Republic of China; Hanoi, Vietnam & Canada, Singapore & Thailand. For that reason the World Health Organization has issued emergency guidance for travelers & airlines so that persons displaying symptoms of the illness can receive immediate health care & can be brought to the attention of public health authorities. These individuals are also advised against travelling while ill.

Have a fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher;

one or more symptoms of respiratory illness including cough, shortness of breath, difficulty in breathing, hypoxia (deficiency in the amount of oxygen reaching tissues of the body), X-rays indicating the presence of pneumonia, or respiratory distress; &

one or more of the following:

History of travel to Hong Kong or Guangdong Province, People's Republic of China, or Hanoi, Vietnam within three days of symptom onset;

Close contact with persons with respiratory illness having the described travel history. Close contact includes having cared for, lived with, or had direct contact with respiratory secretions & body fluids of a person with SARS.

Additionally, airlines should:

Alert the destination airport of any passengers meeting the case definition criteria;

Arriving passengers who are symptomatic should be referred to health authorities for assessment & care;

The passengers & crew should provide all contact information for how passengers can be reached for the subsequent 14 days to airport health authorities.

Aircraft passengers & crew should be informed of the person's status as a suspect case of SARS;

Recognizing autism symptoms

Autism is considered to be the most serious disorder among Autism Spectrum Disorders. Autism is triggered by neurological dysfunctions, in some cases causing dramatic, irreversible damage in behaviors, social interactions, communication skills and even physical development. Although people who suffer from autism don’t always seem to be different from normal people, the presence of abnormalities is revealed by the way they socially interact, communicate, and learn.

Autism symptoms can usually be spotted during the first years of life. Despite the fact that autistic people share common features of the disorder, it is wrong to generalize the aspects of autism. People with autism, just like normal people, develop unique, distinctive personalities and have different ways of understanding and relating to the world. Furthermore, people with autism sometimes have high, above average IQ’s. Autistic people usually have good mathematical skills and good memory.

People with autism tend to experience emotional problems at different stages of their lives due to their evasive, withdrawing behaviors and they often become depressed. An obvious autism symptom is the predisposition towards stereotype, repetitive behaviors, and the preference for activities that involve maintaining a certain routine. People with autism strongly resist change and they are usually very tidy and organized. They categorize personal objects, maintaining everything in a very strict order. It is thought that autistic people refuse to engage in spontaneous activities due to their poor adaptability to new situations.

The National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities proposes the following autism symptoms in identifying the presence of the disorder:

- poor emphatic skills, inability of understanding and coping with others’ distress;

- inability of relating to other people, lack of interest in other persons; it is a fact that autistic people have behaviors oriented towards the self;

- avoidance of social interactions, refusal of making eye contact, isolation from the external world;

- difficulties in expressing feelings or understanding other people’s emotions;

- poor responsiveness when called by their name, refusal of redirecting their attention towards people when asked to;

- difficulties in expressing their needs and desires;

- repeating ideas within a conversation, incoherent speech;

- unusual reactions to external stimuli like sounds, tastes or smells;

- deterioration of the skills they once possessed.

Children with autism need special care and attention and appropriate treatment in order to minimize the harm caused by their disorder. It is vital to pay attention to autism symptoms when suspecting that a child may be suffering from the disorder. Children with autism better deal with the disorder if they have been diagnosed with autism at an early age.

Adults with autism are able to take care of themselves, especially if they suffer from milder forms of the disorder. They can sometimes be successfully integrated in the society and some autistic people can even handle a job. However, many people with autism have unpredictable behaviors and need to be under the constant care of their families. Autistic people that have more severe forms of the disorder are usually institutionalized and kept under strict monitoring.

The best way to fight poor health is to make home cooking fast and easy

Obesity and related health problems are epidemic in North America. Not only are most of us eating way too much and getting little exercise, but we're also eating very fatty foods. Even if you shun fast food restaurants and buy your food at supermarkets, it's still almost impossible to find quick-to-fix foods that aren't high in fat content.

Experts say we were in far better health a few decades ago when just about everyone prepared their meals from scratch. Home cooking, even when elevated to the gourmet level, is far healthier than restaurants or instant dishes from the grocery store.

But these days when everyone is working one, two, even three jobs, who has the time to make a complete meal at home? It would seem there is simply no fast, easy way to eat healthy food.

Let me speak from experience: You CAN cook FAST at home and make EXCELLENT meals. Nick has been a gourmet chef for 25 years. During that time he developed more than 300 great, healthy recipes that can be prepared quickly.

As a general rule of thumb, you can be sitting down, eating a hot, fresh meal within 45 minutes to one hour after you come home.

Consider how much time and money you spend at fast food restaurants, and you'll realize how much money--even time--you can save.

Not only does eating better help you stay trimmer, it also makes you feel better. People who eat better have more energy and quite often feel younger. Education specialists assure us kids develop normally and perform better in school when they eat right. And you can certainly head off a host of health problems that can plague you in middle and later life.

Do yourself and your family a huge favor. Start cooking your meals at home using fresh ingredients in recipes that help you cook fast and often from scratch. It's cheaper and, goodness knows, it tastes a lot better!
